Halloween 2011

Halloween was such an event this year, it literally lasted all month. It began on October 1 with decorating what seemed like every inch of every room in the house and it lasted all month long, with pumpkin carving, Mickey's Trick or Treat at Disneyland, Trick or Treating at the Circle in Orange, CA, a Halloween party for all of our family and friends, and ending with trick or treating around our really active neighborhood. (We see about 400 kids on Halloween)

This year I decided to make them bees!  I was a bee when I was a baby and so was my hubby so that's where that decision originated.  I made their bee costumes, and I had to make them the first week of October because we were going to Disneyland for Mickey's Halloween trick or treat event. It was our girls first time!!! And, I cried.. It was such a magical moment watching my daughters' faces while they experienced the magic themselves. The expression on their faces was so incredible. Amazing.

Lacey. That smile says it all! She was so incredibly excited!

Lexie... so tiny.. Just along for the ride.

Lacey pulling her Pa! She was so ready to experience everything Disney!

Me, bawling my eyes out! Disneyland is seriously magical, and I felt magic.. and I was soo overwhelmed watching them experience the magic.

Halloween 2009

Lacey was 9 months and still my lil baby here... I made this lion costume for her.. (I can't think back to this time too much, I keep getting emotional!)

Halloween 2010

Halloween 2010, my girls were still really young. Its kind of difficult deciding on what to have the girls dress as.

So, I made Lacey an owl costume. The story behind that was that she was not yet 2 years old and learned what an owl was, without me knowing. (probably from an episode of Dora or Diego) And one day she kept saying, "Ow!" And I would ask her what's wrong, and she just kept saying it, and then I realized she was saying, "Owl!"

And as for Miss Lexie, she is really difficult to figure out. She was a really tough baby, she was very clingy and needy and whiney... (& I know your not supposed to compare, but Lacey was only 18 months older And was really a delightful baby) and so for Halloween she was only about 3 1/2 months, and since she was born in July that makes her a "cancer" so we tended to lean towards sea creatures when picking things for her... anyways, I made her an octopus costume. I liked It, however, she couldn't really sit up yet, I should've thought of that before.  :)

My first sewing projects

This is Lacey modeling the first dress that I attempted.. No Pattern, Fabric that was on hand, and slightly crooked! HAHA! I am having a lot of trouble sewing arm and neck holes!

Also, as you can tell by my daughters' bed hair, they try these on first thing in the morning, because I only get to sew after 9pm, the girls bedtime.

The purse looks pretty cute! I was pretty proud of this one, but one of my problems is that I am very impatient, so, I didn't even bother sewing the lining.. I thought to myself, "eh, who needs it?"
